Announcement
USA Software, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Miami Shores (FL) Police Department will be implementing our Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Mobile Data System and MobileFile 2000® XML-based Field Reporting System (eForms). Located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, they have been a user of our popular CrimeFile 2000 ® Information Management System product line for over 15 years. They are currently  using our Records Management (RMS) solution and now, along with CAD and Mobile Data, our innovative eForms Field Reporting for in-car incident and traffic crash report writing. (see the description titled "One-time data entry" below). All of their mission-critical law enforcement applications are provided by a single vendor, USA Software.

Why USA Software?

In order to fight crime, you need up-to-the-minute access to all the data (incidents, arrests, calls for service ) that comes into your agency. It takes a fast, completely integrated, easy-to-use information management system like USA Software's CrimeFile 2000® to handle all that information. A Microsoft SQL Server-based application, with over 40 different modules to choose from, CrimeFile 2000® has the ability to configure an information management system that meets your specific needs. And what good is all that data if you can't convert it to statistics you can analyze and use? With the help of Crystal Reports®, you can create reports with charts and graphs that turn data into decision making tools.

Here is just a sampling of what CrimeFile 2000® has to offer:

One-time data entry

Our Computer Aided Dispatch(CAD) system combined with our Mobile Data System (MDS) allows dispatchers to silently dispatch officers to calls for service while at the same time electronically sending all of the call details such as Case Number, times, location, call type, caller info, etc. to the wireless mobile laptop unit. This information is then used by our eForms-based field reporting system to automatically populate the report with the information from CAD thus eliminating entry errors and saving time. The officer completes the report and, via the MDS, wirelessly forwards it to the supervisor. The approved report is then sent (again wirelessly) to the server where it is automatically imported into the Records Management System (RMS).The Case Management System is also updated with the report information so that CID commanders can assign and begin to track the investigation. All data in this process is entered once, at the point of origination.

CrimeFile 2000® is a completely integrated CAD/RMS/Mobile Data system that uses the latest technology and dozens of system modules to provide up-to-the-minute access to all agency data. So easy to use, it's almost criminal.

Announcement
USA Software, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Peachtree City (GA) Police Department, will be implementing our EvidenceFile 2000® Barcode-based Property/Evidence Tracking System (EF2000). Located in Fayette County south of Atlanta, Peachtree City has grown steadily in the past two decades with a population now approaching 36,000 residents. They have been a user of our popular CrimeFile 2000® Information Management System since 1997. They will now be able to electronically create Property/Evidence Receipts and submit them wirelessly to the evidence tech. After review and barcoding, the data will then be transmitted to the server where it automatically populates the backend database, thus eliminating duplicate data entry.

Put an End to Lost Evidence

Does your department come across as disorganized and unprofessional because a piece of evidence can't be located? Do your officers waste time searching for evidence or trying to determine when it converts to property so they can notify the owner? Would it help if you could trace evidence by date, case number, location, suspect or victim's name? Would you like to be able to update files and print an inventory history with the click of a mouse? If you answered "YES" to one or more of these questions, then you, too, need EvidenceFile 2000®!

How it Works
EvidenceFile 2000® is a Windows®-based system that lets you identify, label and follow the property and evidence that comes into your agency. First, officers complete our Property/Evidence eForm (electronic form) in their car (or an in-house workstation) and wirelessly transmit it to the evidence tech. The evidence tech then reviews the eForm against the evidence in the evidence locker, applies the barcodes and then scans the barcodes into the eForm using our barcode scanner. The approved eForm with the barcodes is then transmitted to the server where it automatically populates the backend database, eliminating duplicate data entry on the part of the evidence tech. Once this phase is complete, you're ready for tracking.

"Bar coding speeds up inventory,

makes evidence easy to find."  The most useful feature of EvidenceFile 2000® is the inventory function. It's a fast, easy, efficient way to keep track of what's in your evidence room. Because it's so easy to use, you'll be inclined to take inventory more frequently, which leads to increased accuracy. Aided by the Exception Item report, you'll know when evidence is missing or when it has changed locations within the evidence room.
Another important feature of the EvidenceFile 2000® system is the ability to generate clear, concise reports on everything from Evidence Logs to Aging Evidence notices to Current Location reports.

EvidenceFile 2000® is a complete, barcode-based Evidence Tracking System that uses the latest technology and incorporates numerous reports to provide up-to-the-minute access to all of your agency's evidence data. So easy to use, it's almost criminal.

OK, how did you get the name?
By far, the MOST asked question when we first meet people. Our fearless leader, Joe, is a retired Scoutmaster from Boy Scout Troop 636 in Cooper City, Fl. (a troop that, by the way, boasts 54 Eagle Scouts from its ranks over the years.) At one of the boy's Eagle Board of Review ( a big deal - all official and stuff...), he was asked about his beaten up, worn out cap with the letters "CP" on it. He was told that it couldn't be an official hat and that he was out of uniform. He replied that it was, indeed, an official scout hat from a Boy Scout Summer Camp in VA. Still not believing the boy, the inquiring board member asked rather coldly, "What does CP stand for anyway, Cruddy Puppets?" He told her, "No, Camp Powhatan". But the seed had been sown. Joe knew then and there that if he ever had a band, he would name it "The Cruddy Puppets". And THAT is how we became Cruddy.

from left to right:
Tim - Lead Vocals, Guitar
Joe - Harmonica, Guitar, Vocals
Woody - Lead Guitar, Vocals
Mike - Mandolin, Guitar, Vocals
RJ - Bass Guitar, Vocals
What do we play?
The Cruddy Puppets are a unique "cover" band in that we are basically 5 guitarists (much like a Bluegrass band) that play a blend of Rock, Country, Folk, Irish and Bluegrass music from the 60's through today. We cover such artists as The Eagles, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, The Beatles, Kenny Chesney, Bon Jovi, Bob Dylan, Elvis, Jimmy Buffett, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, Merle Haggard, The Monkees, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ricky Nelson, Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, The Traveling Wilburys and many more.

Where do we play?
Anywhere! Bars, restaurants, parties, holiday functions from Ft. Lauderdale to The Keys. We travel with our own PA System or we can use your in-house PA.
Tell your friends about us! So they can be Cruddy, too!

Forward-to-a-Friend

BREAKING NEWS
We have been asked to play/audition at Jimbo's Sandbar on the Intercoastal this Saturday at 6PM. Some of you may remember, this is where The Cruddy Puppets had their first gig a couple of years ago. They closed for awhile (no cause and effect, mind you) and re-opened Monday under new management. We're in line for a regular gig if they like us, so come on out and support your favorite Puppets. They will really like us if we generate customers. Also, forward this to a friend using the link at the bottom. They are located at 6200 N Ocean Drive, Dania Beach. Come east on Dania Beach Blvd, go over and then under the bridge (going south) and it's the first establishment on the right past the bridge (the Intercoastal side).

Update
We had a successful audition this past Saturday at Jimbo's Sandbar on the Intercoastal. They have asked us to come back on a regular basis. We are very excited because, as you may remember from the last newsletter, this is where The Cruddy Puppets had their first gig a couple of years ago. We also performed at the American Legion Friday noght (a wee bit of Irish lingo there) and they, too, asked us back for regular gigs. Both will be getting in touch with us and we will pass along the details to you via this newsletter. Thanks for your support! We hope to see you this Sunday, July 6, at the Dania Beach Bar and Grill.

Happy Fourth of July !!!!
